Everything to Know About Cape Liberty Cruise Port Bayonne, NJ

bayonne nj cruise port

Housed in an 1847 Italianette Villa, this hotel provides a great place to stay close to the Cape Liberty Cruise Port. From what we can tell, they don’t provide parking or transportation to the port, but any of the parking options we covered earlier in the article should work just fine. The benefit of parking at the port is that they don’t require you to make a reservation to get a spot. Also the parking lot is adjacent to the port so it’s much more convenient and will save time. The Port does offer parking for cruise passengers, but that is going to run you about $25 per day, which can get expensive if your cruise is for a week or more. If you have an oversized vehicle, such as a camper or RV, the price per day is $50 or more.

Coach Transfers

Late arriving passengers will be denied entry to the terminal and will not be allowed to sail on their cruise. If you’re flying in, you are going to need an alternative source of transportation to the cruise terminal. Your preference, budget, and size of your group will help you decide whether you take a train, bus, shuttle, or private transportation. Pick-up Zones 6 – 10 are clearly marked along the main building and are designated pick up areas for passengers who have pre-arranged their own transportation by car service, friend or family. It is highly recommended that all sailing passengers complete their Online Pre-Registration with the cruise line at least 5 days prior to sailing.

Then, a taxi ride or rideshare is necessary for the final stretch. Items that were confiscated can be retrieved directly after CBP inspection area and before exiting the facility.

Brooklyn Cruise Terminal Guide: Everything You Need to Know

Amtrak trains come from all along the East Coast (and beyond) to Newark Penn Station. From the train station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare to get to the Cape Liberty Cruise Port. Taxi stand is located across the street from Zone 10. All items, vehicles and persons will be subject to security screening.

Cape Liberty also has a number of attractions of its own. There is a 950 car parking structure located beside the pier. The views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty are an ideal back-drop to your sail-away party. It is located a short distance from the New Jersey turnpike (exit 14A). Taxis (as well as Uber and Lyft) are available from all the three international airports but are costly. Cape Liberty can be accessed from Highway I-95 (exit 6, then NJ Turnpike's exit 14A).

Anything larger must be checked in through the porter delivery service. Taxis are available in the designated taxi lot across from the parking garage. Taxi rates are available with the dispatcher at the taxi stand. There is an open lot adjacent to the parking garage to accommodate vehicles with height restrictions. Porter service is available at the Cape Liberty Cruise Port. Cruise line-provided luggage tags should be affixed prior to arrival.

In 2016 they hit a record high of 509,306 passengers. As the port continues to grow, they plan on seeing that number rise even higher in the years to come. Cape Liberty used to be the home of a Naval Supply Depot, commissioned in 1942, and was a major repair yard for wartime vessels, Essex class aircraft carriers, and Iowa class battle ships. Preferred method of payment is credit card, all major credit cards are accepted.

Luggage drop-off zones are located directly in front of the terminal. The coach shuttle pick-up area is located directly across from the terminal facility exit. Zones A, B, C, D are designated for pre-arranged hotel shuttle service. All passengers should arrive at the time indicated on their sailing documents posted by their cruise line. Due to security restrictions, only ticketed passengers will be allowed in the terminal building.
